Halloween 2008

Halloween again!!! YAY!!! This year Hannah was three different things for three different parties.

At Brownies, the girls were asked to dress like women from another decade. Hannah was Audrey Hepburn, channelling her Holly Golightly (although she looked a little Amy Winehouse to me).

For school, we used part of her actual costume (the mommy made one) because the entire costume had so many parts I was very fearful that she would end up losing some of it at school and then what would I do. Improvise naturally, but I would have been stressed and unhappy. As it was this costume took a very long time to complete. It had boots and tights --storebought, and a storebought hat that I added boa too to fru fru it up a bit. Then I made a tutu, an overskirt, a ruffled blouse, and a vest and head wrap. So I get all the stuff together and dress Hannah in the partial costume which become a gypsy costume and put it in a bag to go to school with her. Hubby misunderstands and she goes to school in a black skirt and shirt with a headwrap and hoop earrings and one strand of gold beads and boots. She was disappointed that she didn't get to wear her costume to school, hubby thought that was her costume for school even though he stood right there and took pictures with her in the actual costume, (talk about not paying attention), but it was all fine. Here she is as Gypsy Girl and at the end is the real costume and our new puppy Gracie as her first mate.
